The cross beams under the mast are cracked and Dave has put a bearing post in to support and strengthen it.

Italy 2011
The boat was very tired looking and dirty when Dave and Chris arrived in Italy. So we cleaned the out side of boat and touched up a bit ot the paint work.
Replaced one of the old mild steel floor bolts which had rusted away and was the cause of a minor leak.
This was done in the water with Lady bear careened over so I could get at the bolt which was
bottom bolt which went through the garboard.

Someone unplugged the electric from the boat the old starter motor got wet and was damaged.

After a serious blow crossing the gulf of Taranto we had to rewire all the bilge pumps, repack the stern gland and do some under water caulking as we had a serious leak between the top of the keel and the garboar on the starboard side.Had to buy 1 new bilge pump
The boom was epoxied together where it had been sprung during the crossing this was done with the help of Nick and Mark, Nick happened to have a load of epoxy resin on board, this was a bargain as they only charged us a beer and a few books they hadn't read ...........................................75 euros

Dave, Norman and Laurance packed the car and off to the night ferry for the long drive down to the boat.
Fully equiped to rewire the boat finally. Hopefully it will only take 4 days as Yvette, Lorenzo Artie and I are flying down on Monday 30th.

Our old cooker died, well blew up!! Every time we lite it, after a while it would have a small explosion under the hob in the grill bit. So it had to go too dangerous. So we ordered a new one from UK from Marine superstore it took three days and only £20 for delivery. Sounds too good to be true. Three days later I saw our Federal express van looking for us in Bouzigues. I was amazed!

We have winter in the House Casacasali Italy and the boat in Rome, we were hoping to get the work done this winter but we didn't start the work until April after one thing or any other stopping us mostly getting the house sorted we now have a great new bathroom upstairs. And now Dave has managed to work on the boat coming home at weekends, I have managed to build a wall landscape the garden and replant the garden with full herbaceous plants.
